Christmas Eve 之 ‘上火记’

Didn't go out to anywhere to join the crowd on the Christmas Eve. I don't really like crowd. So, I opted to go to Myfitness to join the Body Jam class.... at least I've something to busy on this day lo.

But I think this is not really my day lo. My younger sister and I reached the mentioned place at 7.15pm and after changing, the time is just nice for us to join the 7.30pm class. We waited until 7.35pm but the instructor still didn't turn up. As far as what we know, this instructor is those of punctual typed, never late to class. So, a lady went over to check out whether the class is on. The front desk people told us that the instructor is 'coming'....

Waiting and waiting and waiting until 8.++pm, the front desk girl told us that the class is cancelled. We are given some door gift as return. Ohhhhh... what a memorable Christmas's present I got!! A WHITE waiting CHRISTMAS!!

Myfitness has its BC 38 launched here by Phui See and JX. Unexpectedly the class started at 7.30pm 'sharp'. So, I missed the few starting minutes of the warm up track. It's quite some times since my last joining Phui See's class. Just don't realy get use to her style coz she love doing 4-5 tracks back to back, non-stop. I'm too old for this style lo. Almost breathless during the class..... Just don't know why, my body still can't listen to her instruction. I need to be very very alert and concentrate in order to get the movement correct coz my body just won't follow her instruction automatically...

Generally BC38 is great and of super cardio type again. Fully exhausted after the class.... love it very much except the push up session... Haha!!

Christmas Eve Dinner.....

Such a long time since my previous dinner with my youngest sister...... Ermmm, if I'm not mistaken, should be from the time when she started her new job, I think. We decided to have Christmas Eve dinner at McD. There is 2 reason for it.... 1st, her favourite twister fries is back by popular, to celebrate the coming Chinese New Year again and the 2nd reason is because.... due to a very longgggggggggg reason, the length of grandmother's story. So, I think it's better for for me to blog about in my next post.

Hope that I can come back to twister fries again in short future together with my elder sister when she recovered from her sickness.... 3 of us are the big fans of twister fries!! Hehehe...

Potluck Christmas Party

I just back from a potluck Christmas Party. The party is organised by my auntie and it also serves as a family gathering session. Since we are invited at the very last minute, we didn't prepare or cook any food there. We only bought some fruit there.

Anyway, since it's a Christmas party, we hopped in to Carrefour Supermarket to buy some christmas gift for my cousins or make it simple, we bought presents for the kids lo. We bought two groups of gift. For the guys, we bought them Cadbury chocolate whereas for the girls, we bought them some fashion accessories. Not sure whether they like it or not coz they haven't unwrapped their gift yet.

For the potluck party, lots of food are served. Fried noodle, fried meehoon, fruits, sandwich, fishballs, sausage, curry, cakes etc.You name it, they have it!! The party was so happening!!

Buffet lunch @ Royal Selangor Club

All Cheng & Co staffs are invited by Dr Paul Cheng to have Christmas buffet lunch at Royal Selangor Club today. So, Cheng & Co is closed from 12.00pm to 2.30pm for such reason. We departed 12.00pm sharp from the office and reached the mentioned place at around 12.20pm.

The Club is opened for its members only and according to Dr Paul, he is the member for the club since 1983. We have a full and satisfied buffet lunch there. Yeahh.... I'm kinda easily satisfied as long as I don't have to pay any. hehehe.....

After the lunch, Dr Paul showed us around the club. The arrangement is sort of a tour guide, Dr Paul bringing a group of tourist to visit the place. He talked of history of the place and showed us the facilities there. We just followed him to walk around.

The funniest part during our tour was by the time we visited to the gym room. There was a member working out there. When he saw 40+ of us wearing formal dress code to step into the gym room, he shocked and stoned there for 15 minutes until we left the place. We really feel sorry to disturb him but still we can't hold our laugh seeing his blurred face.

Actually I have lots of sweet memory in this place when I was a child. My dad was working there as a bar captain for 20 over years. Every year the club would held a Children Christmas Party.

That's the only place and time, where and when I can have close interaction with Santa Clause too. I still remember that the Santa Clause would distribute some chocolates, sweets and candy to us. We also would have buffet lunch there..... but I hardly remember what's the food was. then the Santa Clause would sing along with all the kids. I think there is more than hundreds of children gathered there. I learned all the Christmas song there... Jingle Bells, Jingle Bell Rock, I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause, Here Come Santa Clause, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Joy to The World etc.

After the singing session, there would be some stage performance and magic show as well. Last but not least, all the children would be given a present. The present is surely a toy. Kids always love toys and I myself really love toys very much.

Ahhh... What a sweet memory!!! I really miss it very very much. I wish to join Christmas party now but I am invited by nobody this year. *sob sob* Christmas presents, Yeahh, I got it, from facebook... Haha!! Better than nothing maa...

Home-typed Boutique

This is my 1st experience to shop in a home-typed boutique. It is based in a corner unit of a double storey link house in Sri Petaling. According to the signboard, the business place is named as Citrus Deign & Advertising Sdn. Bhd..

But if really compared to shopping complex, I personally prefer the later. The environment, the choice, the fashion, the quality..... so variety. And if we go shopping on mega sales season, the price is even a lot more unbelievably cheaper. But since my cousin would like to pay a visit to this kind of boutique, no harm for me to follow and this is my 1st experience to go home-typed boutique and also 1st time go shopping without buying anything.. Haha!!

Winter Solstice

Today is the Winter Solstice or 'Dongzhi' for the year. Most of the time, the 'Dongzhi' would be on December 22 of the year but this year, this big day is fallen on December 21, 2008. Heard from the radio station few days back, the reason for this is because this year, 2008 is a leap year with 29 days in February. Hence the 'Dongzhi' is one day earlier by date after all.

As usual, our family will have a simple reunion lunch together. 5 of us gather together to enjoy the lunch with chicken, pork, vege and of course 'tangyuen'. I enjoyed eating the 'tangyuen' very much. I think this is solely because I only have the chance to taste it once after missing it for one year. The chicken that cooked by my mom is the one that that bought from Liza. It costs us RM45.00 per bird but is worth to eat coz is 'homefed' typed. Healthier, I think. We also booked another one for Chinese New Year Eve. Hope the 'stock' is available during CNY eve lo.

A day in hair saloon....

I have been sitting in the hair saloon from 12.00pm to 5.00pm today. Yupe... is 5 hours, no joke. In this 5 hours, my hair is cut, rebonded and coloured. The package comes with 2 treatment as well. Actually I don't really go to hair saloon to do this kind of thing so often, because this thing really challenge my patience. Can you imagine, sitting there without doing anything but just waiting for people to do your hair for around 5 hours... OMG!! Upon reaching home, my family commented my hair's colour too sharp. According to them, I'm too old for this kind of colour wo.. :(

Since Christmas is just around the corner, the saloon also have some Christmas decoration. I'm sitting next to a lovely Christmas tree.

Sick at Home

I am having flu and non stop coughing for almost 1 week. But due to the workload in office, really don't have much time to care about it. Today... I am really down to sick and have a day off, mc.

Good to me also , coz it's quite such a long time since my last MC day. Of coz ma, MC is one of my Company's benefit. Most of the colleagues utilising it fully during the year, except me. I think I only have taken 3 days MC this year. Such a good and healthy employee. Hahaha...

The medical bill was RM35.00. My company will only reimbursed me for RM30.00, damn stingy. but no choice lo, I'm really sick ma. The excess RM5.00 have to pay myself lo. Anyway, I think I'm still benefited in term of the mc day off lo... Hopefully I'll recover soon la!!

1st experience dinner @ Secret Recipe of Sri Petaling

That was my first experince dining at Secret recipe of Sri Petaling. If fact, most of the time I had my breakfast there. Yeahh... love to have cake as my breakfast all the time. Sweet stuff is always my favourite.

Had a short and simple dinner with Alyster (my friend, my ex-colleague and my company's client) at the mentioned place yesterday after work. The reason for 'short period' dinner is due to she is having another dinner elsewhere after that and I myself is not really feeling well... But we still managed to chat for about 1 hour, I think.

Since it was a dinner hours, I opted for heavy meal instead. I ordered the chicken meat ball pasta whereas she only ordered a slice of chocolate indulgence cake and drinks. Nothing much to comment about the cake as Secret Recipe is always my all-times favourite... Hehe. Pasta..... I think is nothing special lo... Cannot see and feel its attraction at all, just a very common one lo.

One hour really not enough for us to chill and chat about. Looking forward for another round of dinner with her when she is free again and when I have recovered!!... Thanks for the treat again!!

Auditing environment at client's place

For the past 2 days, I was based in Paramount Garden of Petaling Jaya. Most of the time during my course of audit, I would be seated in the conference room but as this is a sales outlet for electrical appliances, so that's no conference room.

This time, my colleague and I were seated in their tiny office area at the 1st floor. We have to share a table there. Feeling less freedom with this kind of arrangement but luckily the client seldom sit at her place and she left the radio on during office hours. So the enjoyable part is that we can listen to the radio station. At least not so bored looo.

Free gift implies the economic status now

Lots of people were saying that global economic is slowing down now. The West is experience the tough life. Be frank, I never sense any recession in Malaysia. Feels that shopping mall, cinema, restaurant etc all are crowded. Everybody still enjoying the life here.

But now I started to sense the 'slow' trend in our economic. Is end of the year already but I still didn't really get much free gift such as diary, table calendar or even pocket calendarfor 2009. I think at the same day of last year, I got lots of this thing. This year, lots of client told me that they are not printing any coz they are facing tight budget this year. So... I don't get any from them.

The only free gift that I got this year is from Great Eastern Life again. My agent cum friend is generous enough to give me a diary and a table calendar. Ya... that's all I got. Seems like this clearly implies the economic status now!! But..... is the economic really that bad in Malaysia ??????

Appreciation

I always feel warm when people really appreciate my contribution. I am not demanding for any monetary rewards but sometimes some little motivation or appreciation motion might easily cheer me up.

But recently I understand a reality. It is not easy to be appreciated. I was working on 8th December (Hari Raya Haji) which supposed to be a public holiday. On the same day, 3 persons happened to discuss the same issue with me.

Firstly, I have a chat with my boss, Mr Liew. He grumbled that we work like a "dog", but end up our rewards can't match with our hard work.Then I have a short discussion with my another boss, Steven. He complained that we work until 'gadai our nyawa'... but end up we got nothing. Had lunch with my colleague, CG on the same day. He told me that we always work like hell but end up getting all the scolding.

At the same day also..... Mr Liew paid for a pizza delivery lunch using Cheng & Co. money but the lunch is restricted to administration staff only... The cost centre is spending , the revenue centre is suffering without appreciation, not even a simple lunch!!!! Unfair!!!!!!

Landslide of Bukit Antarabangsa

Before I read today's paper, I already knew about this news. Not from news reporting of TV but is from my sister. Reason being one of my sister's schoolmate was dead in this incident. She was an accountant. Now leaving behind her 2 months old son and her husband. So sad to know about this news. She is one of the 4 victims that died in this incident.

Again, this news really stop my plan and dream to own a condominium at hill area. I always feel that staying at condominium of hill area is so relaxing. Manage to view the whole scenery of the city.... But now, I think I'll stop such dreaming coz that might be a big sacrifice in return. Better stay happy and appreciate what I own now..... Appreciate the time I have with my family, treasure every moment with my friends...... !!

Busy and busy

I have been working very very hard for 2 weeks already. My definition of 'working very very hard' means I need to bring home some office work to be completed it at home. Super busy life... I still can recall, on November and December of 2007, I'm very very free. Free to go on leave whenever I like and free to chat around in office. I really miss that kind of lazy life.

One of the main reason of my current 'busyness' is due to few colleagues are on study leave. They are going to sit for the ACCA exam in December. Yeah... exam fever again. Hopefully after they come back on next week, everything will be on track again and no more tight schedule for me. I think I'm too old to work like a cow anymore!!

Happy belated birthday to my blog!!

Yesterday was my blog's one year old birthday. I really can't believe I manage to maintain my blog for 1 year. Sometimes I am too busy to even go surfing net, not to mention to do blogging. But I'm glad that my blog still alive until now, not yet turning dormant... hehe.

Actually my main purpose to blog is not to practise my writing skill or just simply do it because people recommended me to do so. I've 3 purposes.

Firstly, I wish to record down certain date for my memory, electronically, no matter is a sweet one or a bitter one. According to my friends.... is a bit 'out' if I still writing down these thing in my diary manually... Secondly, I would like to find a place for me to express my feeling and frustration. Yes, I'm a human also and I need to release also. Last but not least, would like to share my news with my friends... so that, at least they know I'm still alive at the moment.

All this while, I didn't use any tracking element to track who is viewing my blog. That's why I'm not sure whether there are any readers viewing on it. But I'm quite sure that I have one really loyal reader. Every time after he read my blog and got to know my news, he would share his opinion whenever I'm in trouble.... express his pleasant towards my achievement when I'm in happiness and victory.

The good news is..., the bad news is....

Recently my colleagues are busy discussing on the company annual dinner stuff. The annual dinner this year would be held at KL.... heard the venue is Prince Hotel, but subject to final approval and confirmation.

Few days back, Chew Wei told me that company is going to give away RM500 per person to those loyal staff as an appreciation and according to her, those who work for more than 5 years are entitled for it. Ahhh... what a great news!! I'm entitled for it!!

Then now is my turn, busy in thinking how to spend this RM500, coz its really too little... hehehe .... but of coz better than nothing. Before my plan is set, there came the bad news, loyal staff means work for the Company more than 7 years!!! Ah.... What a bad and sad news!! I'm not loyal enough to entitled for it!!!

Again... my money fly way!!

'Split pose' week

Attended 3 yoga classes this week in Myfitness. Ya, this week I attended more yoga class. Just suddenly think that it's time to catch up with class again. Some more, lots of people said yoga good for losing weight wor. Ya lar, CNY is approaching ma!!

Normally in every yoga class, there would be a warm-up session of stretching and sun-salutation. Nothing much. After that, we will proceed with other poses to stretch and develop the internal core strength of the whole body, part by part.

This week, what a coincidence, in all the classes... we practise a same pose in the class, the split, 一字马. I always feel that is very tough to stay hold in this pose. But after doing it frequently for the whole week, now I can easily do it after a proper warm-up. Really can feel the '成就感' very much.... hehe. But I know, if I stop practising it for few weeks, I would have to start to train up again... Hope that at least I can do once a week in class lor.

Movie day, Quantum of Solace

Went for the movie of Quantum of Solace with my dad yesterday at Mid Valley. As this was a Wednesday show, the ticket only costs RM7 each. We managed to purchase the tickets after a long queue. Really can't expect nowadays so many people are available for Wednesday 12.00pm movie.

Well, I myself really can't recall when was my last visit to cinema with my dad. But I still can remember that my dad always brought me to cinema at Jalan Raja Laut (If I'm not mistaken, the cinema is named as Capitol) to watch 007 series movie when I was at my school time. Yeahhh, he is really a big fan of 007.

Well, let's talk about the movie. I personally rated the movie, average. Reason... just can't see any surprise in the movie. 100% action-packed, no romance element in the movie at all and his adventure this time is not so interesting. Another point, if you intend to watch the mentioned movie, please watch the immediate previous 007 movie namely Casino Royale coz this movie is a continuation of the previous.

The whole movie is about how this Mr Bond seeking revenge for the death of his love and how he stopped an environmentalist from taking control of a country's water supply. Daniel Craig as the James Bond again. Ladies of Bond wise, I really not too sure about it coz feel that all the beauties only appear few shots in the movie. The one who appears the most in the movie should be 'M', I guess.... Haha. So, can she be considered as one of the ladies of Bond??

So, my all-time favourites 007 movie still go back to "Tomorrow Never Die". Still I personally think that, "Tomorrow Never Die" is the best, no doubt. Agreed??

Actually really no mood for blogging coz am really too busy with work recently. But recently by the time of working in office, always heard colleagues talked about another colleague.... and within few weeks, I think I get to know the mentioned colleague very very well...

Colleagues said she own an 'action' attitude but I think she is just too focused during her working hours until no time to attend others.

Colleagues said she is quite selfish in knowledge sharing but I think she just want some time for preparation for a better way before she conveys the information to others.

Colleagues said she always give invisible pressure to others but I always think that stress develops stronger motivation.

Colleagues complained that she is too strict towards Company's rules and regulation but I think this clearly show that she is a disciplined staff.

Colleagues always said that she is a 'gold finger' in office but I think her intention is to let the big boss know every staff strengths and weaknesses to ease the job assignment and team development in the department.

That's all I know about her. Manage to guess who is she? All my dearest ex-colleague, you all can try but no gift will be given out for correct answer. All my dearest existing colleague, you all should know who am I talking about coz the info is given by you guys!!

Not easy to be a babysitter....

Have been very busy for the whole day. Reason being I am busy in babysitting a cute little girl, my cousin's daughter. She is soooo cute and I love her very very much.

She was staying at my house for around 5 hrs and within this 5 hours, I was really really exhausted, fully. Too tired to be a babysitter. Really can't understand why the kid's energy is so superb. She doesn't have any 'tiredness' symptom for the whole 5 hrs, non stop jumping up and down, running here and there...... She is really very cute but I think I'm just too old to be a good babysitter.

Was wondering whether I had the same attitude with her when I was a little girl. Was wondering whether I was that active when I was a little girl...... Thanks for my parents' energy and patience.... Always loves them very very much!!

Set lunch @ Chili Padi (Again)

As some of my colleagues never try the food at Chili Padi Restaurant before, I decided to hit the place, to take the risk again after my terrible and unforgettable previous visit there.(Check out my previous post for that unforgettable memory). This time again, I opted for today's set lunch which is western fried mee hoon (Can't really recall the exact name).

To my surprise, this time the food is great. Not too spicy. The mee hoon itself is Malay style but the 'accessories' are of western style. Not bad, not bad. Colleagues were ordering Nasi Lemak and Nasi Bonjari with ABC. The ABC portion is really superb. 4 of us are unable to finish the 2 bowl of ABC. Anyway, everybody are super full after this great lunch.

My confidence to Chili Padi Restaurant is re-built. My phobia towards its food is gone. I'll be back!!

Souvenir fron Joey again

Got a souvenir from my colleague, Joey. She bought it from her Shanghai trip. Is a handkerchief made of silk with some flora and panda stitched as decoration. Nice!!! Always got souvenir from Joey when she backed from her trip..... Still remember her colleague when she is on trip, so good!!

It is really feeling good if somebody treat us a drink when we are seriously under work pressure. Yeahhh... Alice, the group accountant of my client treated us drinks from Old Town White Coffee. Again, I opted for my all-time favourite.....Old Town Enriched Chocolate.

Really different feel, drinking a cold enriched chocolate at Old Town White Coffee House and drinking it @ 3.30pm at client's office. Is more tasty drinking it at client's place. I felt the 'satisfaction' more. I felt re-charged. Feeling appreciated etc and of course enjoyed the tea break hours very very much.

They will deliver to the place after we placed the order with a minimum ordering price of RM10/= including service tax. No additional charges on delivery. Kinda reasonable and convenient. Hope that I can be treated everyday... then I'll feel good everyday!!

Dragon Fruit

Recently am auditing a dragon fruit plantation accounts. So at the same time, we are offered to buy the dragon fruit at the staff purchase pricing, which is RM2.50 per psc. Is really really cheap and these dragon fruit is really really huge in size and delicious... irresistible!!

Three of Us

I really can't recall when is the last time we, the 3 sisters went shopping together. Guess should be 1 year back, if I'm not mistaken. Normally we will either go by the whole family or only 2 of us.

Three of us went to Mid Valley Mega Mall last Saturday merely for shopping and dining. My younger sis and I were doing windows shopping as usual but my elder sis did buy lots of clothes. Yeahhh... she enjoys shopping for clothes very very much.

It was really big crowd there especially in Supermarket, Fashion and all sorts of beauty salons. And guess what???? Most of the customers and visitors are Indians. Yeah.... obviously they are doing their last minutes shopping before Deepavali.

Had our dinner at Kim Garry again before we went home. Again we were only be seated after 15 minutes of long queueing. I love the food there but just not that comfortable with the environment there lo. Too noisy, too huge crowd and everything seems in rush.... So pressured to have our dinner there.... Ermmm, feels like participating in an eating competition and no time to talk and of coz the place is too noisy to chat also la. Just can't understand why so many people love that place!!

Nicole was thinking the reason why this girl asking this question..... and she was thinking how to answer her as well. Should she said ..'None of your business!' or 'I'm going back home.'. First answer would show that Nicole is a rude girl which she tried not to let others misunderstand her attitude towards third party. But still she can't think of any reason why she must tell the truth. Nicole choose the third option..... silence!!

Majlis Rumah Terbuka Sime Darby 2008

Went to the mentioned open house this evening at Sime Darby Convention Centre of Mont' Kiara with my family. As my elder sister is working with the Sime Darby Group, we are invited to it. Mont' Kiara, is such a nice place with smooth traffic and nice view.

This was my first time to SDCC. The design of the building, the view, the food, the people, everything are above my expectation. We are very full after the open house as we really ate alotttt. The food is really delicious. They served satay, char kuey teow, nasi tomato, rendang, roasted lamb, kebab, ayam kurma etc as main course. Dessert wise, they served ABC, cendol, fruit, cakes, cookies, rojak etc. Overall their food is really delicioussss... Must go again next year!! Hahaha....

To buy or not to buy.....

Was thinking for such a long time whether I should buy a new laptop. The issued considered involved lots of factor. Reason.... I've already owned a computer at home. I bought it in year 2004. It is a Pentium 4 model with around RM1,600, if I'm not mistaken and it still working very well.

I need a computer to work out lots of thing at home. Sometimes I will bring some office stuff as home work, watching movie, downloading song, surfing Internet to make some work related research, checking email, online banking stuff etc.....

But recently my sister addicted to facebook. From morning to night, she keeps on commenting this and that, superpoke he and she, writing on the wall here and there etc.. She sticks in front of the computer every minutes when she is at home... And every time I requested to use the computer, she will definitely show a black face. As the computer is funded by me, I always think that I have the priority to access it, but here is not the case...

As a conclusion, she suggested me to buy another laptop so that we can use the computer separately. Such a brilliant idea, but.... the new laptop is also funded by myself. Just feel abit unfair... That's the reason why I'm still thinking whether to buy or not to buy???? Any comment??

I got a new mouse finally...

Ever since I started to have my own computer on my working desk in Cheng & Co., I've been using the same mouse for years. That mouse is HP in brand, white in colour, not a scroll mouse and is a track ball typed. Conclusion, is kinda olddddddd type.

It is even older than my own very first mouse. But this little mouse still has its bright side.... the quality is superb. In fact, I always try to spoil it... Hahaha. Reason being I wanna a new mouse!! This response level of this mouse is below average plus I don't like its design, is totally out!!

After several times of complaint, I finally got a new mouse. Is not the latest model but at least it includes some additional features for ease of using. This mouse is Logitech in brand, black in colour, scroll mouse, optical typed mouse.. I've no comment on the quality yet but I hope it won't last long as I'm expecting something better this ... hahaha

Cheng & Co.'s Klang Branch

I was at the Klang branch to conduct an audit work two days back. This was my first visit to the mentioned place. In my mind, I always think that Klang branch should be a super tiny type of workplace coz our Company's HQ office is at Kuchai Lama and Klang branch is located not too far from the HQ. A bit pointless to set up a branch there.

When I reached there, to my surprise, the office, the design, the environment...... all are very presentable. Never think of the Klang branch looked so nice le... It is quite big also. Below shows the conference room of the branch. So , the rest of the place, I'll leave it to your imagination !!

Had Bak Kut Teh as lunch on the same day. It was quite some times since my last visit to Klang's Bak Kut Teh. Anyway I'm not a big fan of Bak Kut Teh and so there is nothing much I can comment about on the lunch. Just since it is the nearest restaurant from Klang branch, we choose this place for lunch lo. No other reason.... The lunch cost me RM10.50. What do you think? Is it reasonable or too costly?
