Lunch at Chili Padi Restaurant

After dating Alice for more than 1 week, finally had a wonderful lunch with her at the Chili Padi Restaurant today. This is the second time we went there for lunch where we are not ordering the set lunch. For the first time, the dishes were quite disappointed plus with a sky high charges. Actually this restaurant is well-known for its Nasi Bonjari and I tried it before... yummy yummy!!
This time round, for the dishes, my comment is ... 'superb'. We ordered Assam prawn, fried 'sotong', vege (not sure how to name it exactly), clay pot bean curd and coleslaw. Ohh ya, we also ordered an ice-cream as dessert, the nuts delight. Initially we intended to order the Banana Split but unfortunately the mentioned is sold out. However, this nuts delight is really a big surprise for me. The ice-crean is so soft and nice looking. Really love it so much!!!
Not much subject to talk about during our lunch session. Our conversation is only limited to job-related stuff and food and of course a little bit of gossiping, for sure.... hahaha. The lunch costs us RM97.84... I really feel worth it!! Really looking forward for another free lunch... kakaka

This is how I started my gym life (Part 3)

After joining all the freestyle classes in Myfitness, I was recommended to join the Les Mills class. And now, I'm so in love with the les mills programmes classes..... body combat , body jam and RPM. Never try the body pump class before, reason being I don't enjoy weightlifting session lor.
Les mills will come out with a new release every quarter. The new moves are designed by their programme director and the best part is that they never fail to cheer me up or giving me some surprise during every release.
1. Body combat - The moves involved jab, cross, upper cut, front/back/side kick, round house kick, jump kick etc. It is something similar to kick boxing but the music is perfectly matched with the moves. I really sweat alot in the class but after the session, I definitely feel refreshing and energetic again. I super like it very much....
2. Body jam - A dance typed work out. The dance that we did in the class are Latin, Hip-hop, Old school, New school, Retro House etc. I definitely feel happy and enjoyable during the class. I just can't wait to join the class every Wednesday and I can tell you that, after the class, I still feel very 'high' and very happy..... The song selected are always great and the moves are always fun!!
3. RPM - High cardio work out class in Energy studio or so-called spinning class. Lots of moves in introduced in RPM also.... seated/standing climb, aero-race, racing position..... eventhough sometimes we might be too tired during half way of the class, the instructor will motivate you to continue to attack. Interesting? I also enjoy the RPM track very much.
Generally, the les mills class is designed in such way where we started up with warm up, then few power training session, followed by recovery track, after that here comes the interval power training again, last but not least, the cool down session. I really like the arrangement very very much.
Now, les mills classes are my favourite!!

This is how I started my gym life (Part 2)

The very first Cardio work out class that I joined, most of them are freestyle classes. Generally, the classes held in Yang Studio is for the purpose of muscle toning up and burn calories/fat. At the same time, it also promotes 'fun' element during the work out session, for sure.

1. Power hi-lo class or so-called aerobic class. The moves is actually quite simple. what we gonna do is just listen to the bit of the music and follow the instruction from the instructor. The movement is quite repetitive. Starts with a warm up and stretching session , ends with a cool down session. Quite a sporty movement during the class.... the movements involve V-step, single/double knee, leg curl, mambo cha-cha, step touch etc.... Did this class quite often last time but stopped it since few months back...

2. Masala dance class. As per the name given, it is sort of bollywood style dance. All the moves are quite fun and is more or less similar with those screen which we often found in the bollywood movie. Movements are concentrate on hips, butts and chest.... The dance is focus on turn turn turn and shake shake shake!! Fun!!

3. Power step/ Fun step/ Hot stepper class. Hyper cardio work out session using the step board provided. You will surely sweat alot during the class, guaranteed. Just listen to the bit of the music and adhere to the instruction given.... step up and down over the step board, jump left and right off the board. The moves generally are mambo cha-cha-cha, V-step, single/repeater knee, star burst, lunges, around the world, T-step, L-step, gallop, over the board, U-turn........ I like it very very much!!

4. Body challenge class. I only joined once. High intensity class. The movements focused on running and jumping. By the time of doing body challenge, I somehow felt that I was going back to school time's Pendidikan Jasmani lesson. All the moves are seemed to be adopted from it. Hahaha... Of course, this is only my personal view la.Nevertheless, is still a great class with great work out.

5. Ladies choice/Heat zone. Is a cardio work out exercise class. It involves weight-lifting, muscle toning up session and stamina training. Is quite a high intensity-typed of work out generally.

So, here are all the freestyle classes that I joined. Comparatively, I preferred to joined the les mills programme in Yang studio. Ermm..... just feel that the movements designed is more organised and the programme is universally recognised. The les mills programme taught everywhere is the same... Good as a subject of discussion among the les mills programmes lover.

What is the exercise programmes included under les mills programmes? ...... (To be continued)

This is how I started my gym life (Part1)

Most of you guys surely think that I am actually forcing myself to go work out everyday after office hour. For sure you guys would think that a weak and lazy bug like me, working out in gym almost everyday, for sure believing in a concept of ' Since I've invested that much of money, I must get back the same value of rewards from it'.....
What a 'kiasu' attitude. If this is what you guys thinking of me, then I can say that you all really misunderstand me all this while. But it is fine as you guys didn't know how I started my gym life.

Actually before I joined the gym centre, I practised yoga at William & Luisa Dance Centre once a week every monday with a fee of RM50 per month. I am so in love with Yoga. Hence later on, I made up my mind to practise it twice a week for a fee of RM90 per month. Right before the additional enrolment, I got to know that this gym centre, My fitness, would be opened in Endah Parade soon. It offered almost the same pricing of RM90 per month averagely with unlimited access..... so worth it. I found that compartively, it actually held more Yoga classes than the place where I used to practise. So, I made up my mind to enrol it, with 1 year binding contract.

For the first few week, I joined all the Yoga classes provided there, averagely once a day......which include, Astanga Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Sivananda Yoga, Power Yoga, Pilates and Yoga-lates.

Well, below is my personal findings and opinion on each type of yoga I joined.......

1. Astanga Yoga - Combines exercise, relaxation and meditation evenly

2. Hatha Yoga - Concerntrate on exercise and movement

3. Sivananda Yoga - Posture correction typed

4. Vinyasa Yoga - Focus on partnering and equipment assisted during the practise

5. Power Yoga - High intensity type, required more energy..... whole body feeling sore after the class for days

6. Pilates - Focus on toning up the lower body (abs and legs)

7. Yoga-lates - Yoga + pilates

Generally, I thinkYoga is good in training up our internal strength, promoting concerntration, focus and relaxation. Besides, it also helps to tone up our body and assist in stress management. I always feel fresh and re-charged after the practise session.

Recently, the centre introduced additional new slow-motion typed exercise including elemant, gentle flow and body flow. Unfortunately I haven't got the opportunity to join those classes as my schedule is quite full at the mean time. Oh ya, there is a type of slow-motion class which I left out, the Tai Chi class... I really never try it before coz I believe this class is specifically held for the old, I guess.

After 1 month of joining the Yoga class, I was approached by some of the gym members to join the Cardio work out class in Yang Studio. I know those classes required lots of energy, skill, stamina... but still I challenged myself for it.
My experience on it ......( to be continued)

Cheng & Co.'s pantry

Can I throw it into the dustbin of the pantry?
If not, can I throw it in the dustbin in the office?
But as far as what I know, nobody will throw food into the dustbin. They only throw rubbish in the dustbin....

Guilty

I read my junior colleague, Lim Pei's job training diary yesterday. The diary need to be reviewed and verified before my boss signed off it. I really feel guilty after reading it. The diary reminds me that I didn't provide sufficient guideline to her during her training session in our workplace. Yes, I am too busy with my job recently.. I don't even have time to communicate with her during office hour. Luckily she can understand my situation well. She never blame me on that. She makes me feel more guilty after all. I prefer she blame me on that.....
Lim Pei has a very pleasant and independent personality. Whenever she unable to work out any assignment, she will take the initiative to ask other colleagues and if all the seniors were not in the office, she will go through the old working files and search for solution herself. I am very impressed with her working attitude. But.... she really make me feel guilty!! I promise, I will try my level best to squeeze some time to guide her through whenever she need my assistance or advice.
