Banana Leaf Rice

This is the first time I joined my Company's senior partner, Dr Paul Cheng and other colleagues to have banana leaf rice as lunch. Dr Paul was so kind enough to treat us all of around 18 persons.

During the lunch session....

Dr Paul : Hey, Nicole. This is the first time you join us for banana leaf rice during lunch hour, very good!!
Nicole : Yes, Dr Paul. This is the first time I have my lunch here. It tastes great.
Dr Paul : Next time you should join us more, Okay?
Nicole : Sure. Thanks for the lunch.
Dr Paul : Very good.

Wonder why I seldom join them for lunch? Not because of I'm too busy or I don't like banana leaf rice. The actual reason is that I'm not invited to the lunch all the time. Even this time, I'm also not invited. But my colleague, Mishaal, she is so kind enough to put my name on the list. Meaning, I'm actually invited by Mishaal rather than by Dr. Paul, sighhhhh!!!

Anyway, let's talk about the food.... The food is good according to Dr. Paul and other colleagues but as for me, I think is too spicy until my stomach not feeling well after that. Hahaha!! By the way, I also ordered iced lime juice to contra the 'spiciness' of the food... Really too hot and spicy for me.

Addicted

Recently I'm addicted to facebook. I'm addicted to those games especially "Gangster Online" and bubble town. But now I am having difficulties to upgrade my "Gangster Online" level due to lack of team members in my team.... and this is the reason why everytime I 'Pek Yaw' (Beat people and grab their money) sure fail. So, for those who are in my facebook list, feel free to join my team. Thank you very much...... Hehe!!

360 degree Performance Evaluation of Cheng & Co.

What is 360 degree performance eveluation? It is an appraisal conducted in my Company annually to assess the staff's performance for the year. We will be having our annual increment in September every year and this appraisal would serve as a guideline for our superior to recommend our increment and promotion to the management.
The evaluation held yesterday morning in the office. The format of the evaluation form has been changed. I still remember previously, for those who is applicable, they need to be evaluated by fellow colleagues and subordinate apart from the superior. But from this year onwards, every staff would only be evaluated by their superior. No more peer assessment system.
I have nothing much to comment about the changes as this changes don't really affect me much. But for those manager level staff (especially those who are not so welcomed), it serves a good point for them. They don't have to be aasessed by their subordinate. They can continue to be the king or queen in their department. Again there is no saying power for the lower level staffs. Sighhhh!!
Anyway, hopefully Cheng & Co. would act generous in my this coming increment to cover the high living cost nowadays. *fingers cross*

Sick

I can't sleep well for the whole night yesterday. I was sick since yesterday night. Was thinking to see doctor this morning but to my surprise, I felt everything is OK this morning.
Now, right after lunch, I'm not feeling well again. My tummy so pain. The pain even made me breathless. I wanna see doctor but I don't think there is any clinic nearby. I hope that this pain is just for a short term .... hopefully it can recover after few minutes!! The pain caused me unable to concentrate in my work assignment. I can feel, my palms turn cold and my head is becoming heavy and heavy.
I only manage to sit here, listening to the 'tick tick' sound from my watch, counting down to 6.00pm and try not to think of the pain. Ya... that's all I can do now!!!!

Where to go for our Company's Trip this year?

Received a survey form from the Company today. It is for us to vote where and when to go for our this year Company's trip. Let's see...... Ohh.. each of the trip costs us RM600.00 and as usual the Company's budget is RM380.00 per person. Since the Company anticipated less than 100% participation, it forwarded its generous step to subsidise another RM110.00 on top of the RM380.00. That means we only need to pay RM110.00 for the trip. Great?? Not really...
Is not an oversea trip. Is a domestic trip merely. The 3 places to be vote for are :-
1. Say 'hi' to Mahsuri at Pulau Langkawi - I believe this trip mainly focus on sightseeing and island vacation. But would it be too expensive for a 3 days 2 nights stay at Langkawi for RM600.00 per person.

2. Prisoned at Swiss Garden Resorts & Spa, Kuantan - I guess we would be arranged to spend and relax our 3 days 2 nights in the resorts itself. Of course... there should be some so-called fun and fantastic activities be arranged, most likely are team building stuffs or tele-match related. My curiosity........ why we wanna incurred more on transportation to go to this resorts? Can't we just go somewhere nearer? As far as what I know, all the resorts are 80% same what?

3. Dangerous lifestyle in Endau Rompin - Basically is a jungle typed of lifestyle there. Heard somebody even call this place as Taman Negara, Number 2. I'm not sure whether is it true. Why don't just go to Taman Negara since it's more popular? ... I guess should be budget problem lo. I don't like jungle lifestyle, so dangerous... I don't like trekking, so tiring....

You might wonder why it costs us so much to participate in these trip, right? OK, let me tell you the truth.... Besides accomodation, meals, transportation etc, we need to pay for the conference / meeting room and its related expenses. Yes, my Company will hold a meeting there, such a waste of money and time, right? Anyway.... I haven't make my choice yet. Got to discuss further with colleagues first.. Hehe!!

My new toy, DC Samsung S760

Saw an advertisement of promotion for this Digital Camera from Bintang Maju of Endah Parade. Frankly, I seldom use digital camera. Most of the time I just snapshoot everything with my mobile phone.

However since my parents are going to join a trip next month, we decided to buy them a digital camera, I mean a super user friendly digital camera. Understood la, elder ages people are quite slow in technology.

This Samsung S760 is quite user friendly and cost efficient. Since its a promotional item, I failed to negotiate further for a cheaper price. The whole package of camera set of 7.2MP, rechargeable battery and the power bank, tripod, 2 GB memory card etc only costs me RM512. I'm not sure whether it worths this price but i personnally think its quite reasonable.

OK, may be next time I can try to use this new camera for blogging

A moment of Pride in Beijing 2008 Opening Ceremony

Everything was so perfect. I watched the whole show. Love it very very much!! I would regret if I miss this great show. Well done, China!!
